Welcome to the Silveri Service Learning Academy.
Co-founded by Kendra Radcliff (an English teacher at Druid Hills High School) and Shekema Silveri (Georgia's 2011 Milken Educator Award Recipient), the Silveri Service Learning Academy Charter School is the project of a group of educators and community members who believe that public charter schools are an opportunity for Georgia school districts to broaden their already exemplary provision for students. For more about what we believe, please review Dr. Paul C. Gorski's "Equity and social justice from the inside-out: Ten commitments of a multicultural educator" (FEDCAN).
- Our Mission
- Our Vision
Recognizing that the GaDOE Public Charter School Statute welcomes innovative educational opportunities and educational approaches to meet the needs of a diverse student body, this website is designed to support the efforts of Silveri Service Learning Academy Charter School to establish this innovative, accountable, publicly-funded educational option for all students within the partnering Metro Atlanta school district. Enrollment for all students in grades 6-12 residing in the selected Metro Atlanta school district is projected to begin for the 2014-2015 academic year.
“Justice and power must be brought together,

and whatever is powerful may be just” (Blaise Pascal).
